Shanghai´s third position can be attributed to the improvement of its construction of ports and maritime transport services, as well as to the improvement of the global resource allocation capacity enhanced by mechanisms such as the pilot free trade zone of China (Shanghai), the coordinated development of the Yangtze River Delta and technological innovations.
Mention that this Development Index has become an important and increasingly influential indicator to evaluate the development of the main shipping centers.
